Cynics Party: Best VP Pick Ever

    Is that the link JNOV sent me? No, that one's about football. Seems Barry has the lead in Guys I'd Rather Tailgate With.

    I'm starting to think we should just rebuild the Cheers set in the Oval Office. The president can be Sam, and all the cabinet members can sit at the bar.

    McCain as Coach?

    @MC,

    Minus the likability and humanity of course.

    But who would they rather play basketball with? Hmmmmmm?

    Hey! I ranted about that stupid yet personable shit here. Gimme some page hits for the day so I don't feel like I'm screaming into a vacuum. Please and thank you.

    @JNOV: Hey girl, did you tell us you've got a blog too? I think that could be a good exercise for you. I need the whats-it-called thing that compiles all your favorite blogs into one thing. Someone tell me what that is so I can still have my day job.

    Plugz only has fifty some odd days left to keep the wheels on his verbal bus. As far as I'm concerned, he should have as many people partying inside that bus as possible, if it keeps him "relatable".

    JNOV, your blog is loads of fun. I just don't comment as frequently as, say, here.

    Yay! I'm so happy! Happy that my blog got some traffic today and happy that I just spent the last five hours wandering around Swarthmore College and playing video games with my son and his friends. I stopped gaming after the 64 (I am not coordinated enough to use all the buttons on Dreamcast, Playstation, XBox, etc.), but it's been a lot of fun giving color commentary to Ninja Gaiden 2. And I'm trying to get the boys to write the people who made the game because one of the moves the main character does is called, "The Final Solution." I flipped the fuck out, and they were like, yeah, we know, but they're Japanese and "All your base are belong to us" and whatnot. And I was like, well, I'll do something. So, I'll be writing Prima and bitching loud and strong.

    They also play this new Dungeons and Dragons type game called sumthin sumthin Hunter 400 or some shit like that. They were acting out some sort of war scene with, well, figurines, and JNOVJr was like, don't scoff -- it's like really complicated chess. And I was like, Please. It is not chess; it's a [stupid] war game. And JNOVJr was like, chess is a war game. And I was like, Oh yeah. Feel free to geek out all you want, and I will not give you one iota of shit. And I geeked out some, and it was a big geek fest. I love that my kid doesn't mind that I sit on the couch with him and his friends and watch them play. (I double checked on that one.) Happy 19th b-day to my boy!

    @JNOV: Feliz cumpleanos (plus tilde on the n) to JNOV Jr. I can't believe that adorable 12-year-old kid I met and knew in our very past lives at Fancee Pantz L.S. is now 19. And it is a tribute to you and to him that he is totally cool with hanging out with you.

    Happy anniversary to you of pushing out that little sucker!

    P.S. He is right. Chess is a war game.

    P.S.S. Your blog rocks. I have it bookmarked. You are one of the bravest and smartest persons I have ever met, and please don't forget that. I'll remind you if you need reminding.

    @SFL: Yes, chess is a war game, and my kid is smarter than me and more tolerant when it comes to stuff like Warhammer 40K (he insisted I get the name right). I do like slash and hack video games, though. He's going highbrow on me.
