He was probably too young to remember the waning years of it before WWII. 1936.

Re: McCain Apparently Nostalgic For Great Depression

@Hero of the Proletariat-

In order to fix the issues that were in the database we had to revert to a 5-day old version of the site. I managed to save pretty much everything and it will be back up sometime this weekend, but the comments are lost for good. I'm actually en route on a business trip as we speak so I'm going to be a little delayed on it but the posts are alive and well.

We also haven't heard from everyone yet, but Marcell and Jason will still be stopping around from time to time.

Re: McCain Apparently Nostalgic For Great Depression

Barak: TAKE HIM TO THE HOOP.

Re: McCain Apparently Nostalgic For Great Depression

How did the post "Those Were The Days" disappear? Comments for it still show up in the "Recent Comments", but the post seems to no longer exist.

Re: McCain Apparently Nostalgic For Great Depression

@Hunter

Yah, much more of this and I'm gonna have to stary calling you "Molly" 'cuz you are just sooooo pretty in pink....

Re: McCain Apparently Nostalgic For Great Depression

Ooh, man, are the Republicans in disarray right now or what? Off-message, responsible now for a debacle that surpasses even Katrina and the Iraq war, running a confused old man with a woman so clueless she is not even able to stand up to Katie Couric.

The debate tonight is going to be like eating a nice slab of Kobe beef with a little crumbled blue cheese, some hen-of-the-woods mushrooms, and a huge baked potato with a Tanquray 10 martini, twist...all while getting a blowjob from Daniel Dae Kim. Obama will eat him alive....

Re: McCain Apparently Nostalgic For Great Depression

@rptrcub: Is John McCain older than the Great Depression?

@Nabisco: can you hollar at me at sanfranlefty [at] gmail when you get a chance? Check the MSNBC video of Dave's monologue - wicked humor that his writers can create with 24 hours notice. I don't think we'll see the senator appearing with Letterman before election day.

Re: McCain Apparently Nostalgic For Great Depression

@nabisco-

yeah i sent greg an emailed this morning with the subject line "pink is the new blog?"

i generally avoid tech stuff but, in addition to damaging my fragile male ego, these letters are far too light

greg should be tinkering with it a bit more later

im actually on my way across the pond on business so i was kind of rooting for mccains crazy debate postponement to work because

1- i think it would have helped obama

2- id have a better chance of actually seeing it live

ill try to come on once i find the replay on cnn-i or the bbc the iht has a handy viewing guide

Re: McCain Apparently Nostalgic For Great Depression

Well, at least it is nearly apple season. What can I get for a Granny Smith, fitty cent? I guess it depends on whether my bushel is on Wall Street or Flatbush.

Hey HW, what's with the pink? Get someone to look into your color schemes.

Re: McCain Apparently Nostalgic For Great Depression

The good ol days: when people jumped off of buildings, people starved and lived in absolute privation. Yep, I surely want a repeat of that.
